Poem: Don't Love Me

Don’t Love Me.
Don’t love me because I am not worthy of the little bit of love you give.
Needy
Moody
Wanting
Unfulfilled
You know you could have more if you want it
Couldn’t you?
You don’t even have to give much in return because there is always somebody else that is
Waiting
Wanting
Breathing your air
Offering you her
Everything.
And anything
All that is missing
Is you
And she is waiting.
Don’t love me because I can’t handle what little love you give me
I want more
I want it right
I want it right now
And later then
I want it the same all the time
And improving all the time
I want to carry it with me
To give me a boost
But a little is never enough
And you want a lot for it.
My momma tried to tell me how to get the love from you
Cook
Clean
Nurture
No sass
No lip
No other but you.
My needs last
Put you forward
Step behind
Forgive your transgresses
Worship my king
Whore the bed
Lady the streets
Never vice-versa
Wives can get ruined
Allow a man to be a man
Because a man will be a man.
But don’t love me
Cause I didn’t follow suit
Tried to come into my own
Be my own
Have my own
mind
Do my own thang
Thought I was equal
With the freedom to be
Freedom to change
Freedom to improve
That took me further and further away from you
Further away from the woman you knew
For which you were not grateful
And did not want
But it was pussy you owned
And belong to no other
So you thought.
Don’t love me
But I’ll beg for it
Plead for it
Do anything for it
For validation
Admiration
Attention
Affection
Put it into words
Put it into action
Am I not worthy of the love I want
The little love you give
And then some?
Don’t love me.
I’m not worthy of it
Can never rightly be apart of it
But I’ll wither and die without it.
